Me, just sitting, with you.

Sometimes when I write this inspirational column I am rushed, pulled by the responsibilities of getting them out in a timely manner and supporting our facilitators by listing their classes. Occasionally I may be headed out of the store for several days and feel the need to have it done (as is the case with this one). I have a file of ideas and half completed columns that I look at for a quick column but I have found that columns have a way of telling me when they are ready to come forth. A mild state of panic can show up when I think I 'should' have something that needs to come forth and nothing is coming. In some cases I will look to many of the wonderful books here in the store and take an excerpt and use that as the inspirational message. Sometimes that works quickly and easily and it just 'feels right', sometimes it doesn't and I am back to square one.

This column was one of those that kept coming around to square one. Usually I get the sense that something is supposed to come from me but I haven't allowed it to come forward yet. That's why none of the books I looked at 'felt right'. So it's back to my laptop and sitting in front of a blank screen.

So here I sit with, essentially, nothing to say. But that is okay. I have several friends whose company I enjoy and there are times when the conversation lags and neither of us are in a hurry to fill that silence. We simply hold space for each other, enjoying each other's company without the need to create any direction or framework for that space. In such spaces the friendship is very peaceful, restful, a place where you can simply be, just as you are and know that you are accepted.

So if you get this newsletter you are a part of Changing Times. As you read this just imagine yourself sitting here in the store, doing nothing, just relaxing, breathing freely and comfortably.
